13 Integrals of Prayer
- Standing
- Intention
- Takbir al Ihram
- Reciting Fatiha including basmallah (14 points of stressed vowels and differentiating dal and dhal)
- Bowing so that palms reach knees
- Returning to standing
- Two protestations
- Sitting between two prostrations
- One must pause in each of these
- One repeats these in each cycle
- First tashahud is sunnah not integral. Second tashahud is obligatory as is sitting during it
- And solawat after tashahud and before salam
- Final salam, minimal is salaamu alaikum
4 Invalidators of Prayer
- Eating or drinking
- Speaking
- Exposure of awrah unless immediately covered up
- Impurity touching you unless immediately removed without picking it up or holding it

- 40 men excluding the imam must be present
1 Excuse for Absence from Jumu’ah

5 conditions for Khutbah of Jumu’ah
- Khatib is standing
- Khatib is in Tahara
- Khatib has his Awrah covered
- Khatib must sit between two sermons for a length of time between saying subhan Allah and making two brief rakat
- Succession between acts
5 Integrals for Khutbah of Jumu’ah
- Alhamd praise Allah in both sermons
- Solawat ala Nabi prayers upon Prophet saw in both sermons
- Biltaqwa call to fearing Allah in both sermons
- 2 ayat of Quran total
- Prayer for believers in 2nd sermon
FAQ:
- Wearing tight clothes do not invalidate prayer
- Carrying small children with soiled diapers invalidates prayer
- Standing is a condition of prayer
- Intention for prayer is what is in the heart even if the tongue says something else
- It is not obligatory to distinguish a current prayer from a make up prayer when making the intention
- Is the follower’s takbiratul ihram is at the same time as the imam’s takbiratul ihram the followers prayer is invalid
- Continuity is a condition when reciting the Fatiha in prayer
